I'm Letting Comfort Lead This Season...

Living Better. Living well. It begins with the exhale ~"Ahh"

Hello, Autumn Soul 🍂

The fiery summer burned itself away,
And from the hills, the golden autumn time
Looks down and smiles. The fields are tinged with brown—
The birds are talking of another clime.
The forest trees are dyed in gorgeous hues,"
from An Autumn Reverie by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

The wheel has turned…

There’s a little magic in these first days of fall ~ the softer light, the cooler evenings, the invitation to just exhale….

So, put the kettle on, find your favorite cozy spot and settle in with me for a moment…

How is this new season feeling for you?

For me, it feels like relief. A little less doing, a little more feeling, and permission to lean into comfort.

There’s something so nice about slowing down, letting comfort lead, doing a little less, and feeling a little more.

Within the Wheel of the Year, fall is about feeling. It’s the water element. Yet,there’s a tinge of sadness to it; not sad exactly, just a quiet acceptance that we’re letting go of some things.

But right now, at the beginning of fall, we’re still being held in abundance. The crops are coming in. The days are warm, and the nights are cool enough for a sweater but still soft enough for an evening walk. Iced tea by day, warm tea by night. All the little creature comforts;)

And with that said, I want to give a heartfelt shout-out to everyone who came to our Mabon gathering. It was small, but sacred and, yes, so special! The intuitive work moved through us deeply, and the energy was high. Thank you for being there. 🤍

We’re gathering again for Samhain on October 29th—a super witchy circle this time—so keep your eyes and ears open for details. It’s going to be soooo good!

Card of the Season: The Three of Cups

Now, onto our Card of the Season: the Three of Cups. I pulled this card for you as I was writing this letter, and I hope it speaks to you today.

This is one of those cards I’m always happy to see: a card of celebration, friendship, and shared joy. In my Rider-Waite deck, three women dance together, and I’ve always interpreted them as the Maiden, the Mother, and the Wise Woman. With little pumpkins at their feet, the card has such autumn vibes.

The Three of Cups asks us to celebrate the abundance in our lives, including the people who’ve been part of it. Celebrate your tribe, the friendships that have grown, the moments when you’ve felt truly seen. If connection feels far away right now, this card may be a gentle nudge to reach out : perhaps even to someone new you feel a spark with. As the season fills with gatherings and celebrations, it reminds us how nourishing it is to belong.

The Harvest Moon in Aries

Saturday also brings the Harvest Moon in Aries, the full moon closest to the autumn equinox ~ a moment to notice what has ripened in your life and what you’re ready to leave behind. With the Sun in Libra drawing us toward connection and the Moon in Aries reminding us of our own needs, there’s a beautiful tension here: we each need room to be ourselves, and we also need people to share our lives with.

Maybe you’ve been so busy caring for others that you’ve lost touch with what you want. Or maybe you’ve been carrying everything on your own for so long that reaching out feels unfamiliar. The Three of Cups reminds us that finding our tribe doesn’t mean giving up our independence. The right people make space for all of who we are. So follow that intuitive nudge, reach toward someone you’d like to know better, and let yourself be seen.

A few questions to sit with this season:

  • What have I grown or gathered this year that I haven’t taken time to celebrate?
  • Who helps me feel truly seen, and how might I nurture that connection?
  • Where am I craving more community, and what small step could I take toward it?

If you haven’t reached out to a friend or a group lately, this is your sign. Be the one who reaches first.
