“Time to go into the dark where the night has eyes to recognize its own. There you can be sure you are not beyond love.” ~ David Whyte
Tomorrow, at exactly 8:04 p.m. EST, somewhere above all of us, day and night will stand as equals. Not for long. Just for a breath, before the Wheel tips us gently, irreversibly, toward the longer nights ahead. I’ve been writing to you all week about this moment, and I want to be honest about something before it arrives: I almost didn’t send this last email. Part of me thought, They’ve heard enough from me this week. But then I remembered what this really is: an invitation from one person who feels things deeply to another. And those, I never regret sending. So, one more time, let’s celebrate this moment, and then I’ll let it rest. If some part of you has been reading these emails this week and something within you has clicked, let it be real. Honor it. Feel it. Don’t overthink it or dismiss it because you’re busy, because it doesn’t feel important, or because it feels a bit too woo. Just notice that it’s there. That quiet feeling is often the truest thing you’ve acknowledged all week. I know many of us have this small, quiet but persistent voice within us that says there must be more than this. More than the schedule. More than holding everything together for everyone else. More than the version of ourselves we’ve learned to present because sometimes it’s easier than explaining the whole truth. And maybe there is a part of you that is awakening. And part of that is simply beginning to notice that voice. It’s the moment when we remember that we are connected to Spirit and that we are more than the roles we play and the responsibilities we carry. That voice may be barely audible for some of us and much louder for others. But news flash: that’s our intuition. Intuition rarely shouts. It waits quietly and patiently for a moment when we become still enough to hear it. Tomorrow night might be one of those moments. And then there is love...The Wheel doesn’t just turn us toward darkness tonight. It turns us toward tenderness, too. Toward the parts of ourselves we don’t always make room for. At this time of year, yin energy becomes stronger. Our feminine nature. Our nurturing nature. Our receptive nature. Our intuitive nature. Our dark but deep nature. There is a softness to it, a Divine Feminine quality. It’s a kind of love I don’t think we talk about enough. This isn’t necessarily the fiery, passionate kind of love. It’s quieter. Deeper. It’s the kind of love that connects us. The love of family and friends who have become family. The relationships that don’t ask you to perform, that simply hold you on the days you have it all together and the days you very much don’t. The love we share with the people closest to us. Not only our partners, but our children, our parents, our friends, and the people who truly know us best. These are the relationships that hold us. They help keep us together on the days when we feel like we’re falling apart. They give us something to lean into when we feel like we don’t have much left to give. We’re entering the darker half of the year now. It’s colder, quieter, and, for some of us, harder too: emotionally, not just cosmically. The darkness can sometimes make us feel more isolated or alone. And yet, when we take a step toward one another, we can be filled with a different kind of light: the light of companionship, connection, and love. This kind of love can carry us through the seasons when the light pulls back, the days grow shorter, and the world feels a little smaller and stiller; especially if we honor it. This is the love that carries us through the darkness as the days shorten and the world grows quieter, stiller- especially if we honor it. So, consider these thoughts an invitation, rather than merely questions, to explore: Who are the people who hold you? When was the last time you told them, like really told them? And where might you allow yourself to lean into that love a little more? Not with an emoji in a text, but by actually saying the words? Sometimes I have to make the effort to slow down, take a breath, and compose my feelings enough to let someone know, “You mean a lot to me.” But I’ve never once regretted sending that message. Mabon was known as the Child of LightMabon was known as the Child of Light, but when he was only three months old, he was taken from his mother (Modron) and hidden far away. Modron grieved very deeply for her lost child, and the world seemed to grow colder and darker with her sadness. Many years later, King Arthur and his companions set out to find Mabon. They asked the oldest and wisest creatures of the land for help, which finally led them to the ancient Salmon. The Salmon was so old that he knew the story and remembered hearing Mabon’s lonely cries near a castle beside the river. So the Salmon carried the travelers upstream, and there they found Mabon imprisoned. At last, Mabon was freed and returned to the world and to his mother, who, even after all those years, greeted him with open arms and tears of love. His story became one of light returning after darkness, hope after sorrow, and the beautiful reminder that even when the light seems lost, it can always find its way home. And there's real symbolism in that : the quiet knowing that even in our darkness, we are never truly lost. The light always finds its way back to us. It makes me think about what within me went quiet this year without my noticing how deeply I had tucked it away. But I don’t think that’s where the story ends. I think it’s where the journey home begins. If any part of your year -or any part of yourself- has felt like a slow, quiet vanishing, not from falling away, but from drifting, being taken, or becoming misplaced, and something within you is asking to be called back, notice it. For some, that inner voice is barely a whisper. For others, it's unmistakably loud. Either way, it's our intuition, and it never shouts. It waits, patient and quiet, for the moment we become still enough to finally hear it. Tomorrow night could be exactly that moment. And on that note, I’d love to share some gratitude with you.Tomorrow night, we’ll gather in a warm farmhouse nestled beside a nature preserve, with candles glowing, Mabon tea steeping, and kindred spirits coming together. We’ll honor what this season has given us through ritual, grounding, breathwork, meditation, and an abundance attunement. We'll gently set down what is ready to be released. But more than anything, this is a space to exhale.A space where you don't have to hold everything together. Where you can slow down, feel what you feel, and be surrounded by people who understand what it means to move through the world with sensitivity. You don’t need any experience with ritual, yoga, or tarot, just show up as you are. And if you aren’t sure what to expect or have any questions, hit reply HERE~I read every message. 😉 There is still room for you tomorrow night, and I would genuinely love to see you there.
There are only a few hours left to join us! Registration closes at midnight, before this invitation turns back into a pumpkin 🎃 I hope to hold this space with you. With my whole heart, Shana |
